A Google search for Karen Volkman's new book, Nomina, turns up this.
I just don't even know what to say. Who knew MTV was in the market to shill poetry? I guess it makes a sick sort of sense, what with mtvU (the university-focused version of MTV) choosing John Ashbery as its poet laureate last year.
Still, a bit of a shock that it's the 2nd hit listed.
Also of note: readers who are interested in this book may also be interested in A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila: Complete Uncensored First Season DVD set, an MTV houndstooth tote, or an "MTV Intern" T-Shirt.

I worked for BOA this past summer and helped get some promotional materials together for NOMINA. (It's a phenomenal book!) But, I had no idea about distribution on MTV. Thank you so much for sharing! The simple fact that MTV would even be interested to feature poetry on one of their websites has me feeling better about the world.
Best wishes to you, and thank you for maintaining this great blog.
Isaiah,
Thanks for the kind words. Do you think Boa is working distribution for all its books on MTV, or selectively choosing ones that would appeal to the MTV audience?
Well, I emailed my BOA boss, Peter Conners, with my amazement at your discovery, and he said it seems that Amazon has a deal with MTV that allows them to hock their books on MTV web-pages, which in turn allows the wide-range of books sold on Amazon to reach a new niche market. So, it doesn't appear to be genre-specific or press-specific to any degree.
